The unincorporated community of Citrus Park is located in northwestern Hillsborough County, FL, about 15 miles outside of downtown Tampa. Roughly 25,000 people live in Citrus Park, throughout a land area of just over 10 square miles.
Several smaller neighborhoods make up Citrus Park, including Eaglebrook, Mandarin Lakes, Woodmont and Logan Gate, all interspersed among small lakes. State Road 589, locally known as Veterans Expressway, crosses through Citrus Park from north to south, serving as a major thoroughfare into and out of Tampa. Westfield Citrus Park is a major shopping center that opened to the community in 1999. Another local attraction in Citrus Park is Big Cat Rescue, a sanctuary for large cats that’s open to the public.
